Come along to our ‘hard hat and wellies’ event at Buttercross Park this weekend

Larkfleet Homes is holding a ‘hard hat and wellies’ weekend at its Buttercross Park development in Oakham.

The event will be on Saturday 23 and Sunday 24 April from 11:00 am to 3:00 pm. It is open to all prospective new home buyers and will give them the opportunity to look at the various sizes and types of property on offer. A discount of £5,000 will be given to those who reserve a new home at the event.

Buttercross Park is part of the Oakham Heights development and offers a range of traditionally styled eco-friendly and energy efficient 2, 3, 4 and 5 bedroom properties which will suit home buyers looking for a quality home in rural surroundings.
Larkfleet Homes sales manager Sam Watkins said: “The new area of Buttercross Park that we are opening for viewing is still very much a building site – so we’re calling this a ‘hard hat and wellies’ weekend because it could be a bit muddy underfoot if the weather has been wet. We can provide both the hats and the wellies if you need them but feel free to bring your own.

"Buyers who get in at this stage can snap up the best plots – and, of course, get the £5,000 discount we’re offering during the weekend.”

Oakham is a pretty, traditional market town. Bustling with activity, the town boasts a regular market twice a week which includes stalls selling local meats, cheese, bread and eggs. A trip to the market or the monthly Farmers’ Market could coincide with a visit to the numerous cafes, restaurants and pubs.  For active families and outdoor lovers, the renowned water sports facility and stunning nature and wildfowl reserve, Rutland Water, is close by – as is the Catmose Sports Centre.

Nursery, primary and secondary schools can be found in either in Oakham itself or surrounding villages and towns.

For commuters, road links are excellent and towns such as Stamford, Melton Mowbray and Corby are within easy distance.  Leicester and Nottingham are within 35 miles of Buttercross Park. Oakham railway station provides links to Birmingham, Leicester, Peterborough, Cambridge and Stansted Airport.

Call 01572 722262 or email us on oakham@larkfleethomes.co.uk if you would like to make an appointment.

Stamp duty paid at Parson's Prospect

Parson's Prospect is situated in the traditional village of Eye on the edge of the unique and unspoilt Cambridgeshire Fen landscape – but only two miles from the thriving, historic city of Peterborough.

This weekend, we are offering to pay your stamp duty on our last remaining five bedroom home, the Cheltenham, situated on phase four of the development.  Click through to our brochure for details.

The Cheltenham is perfectly laid out for modern family living, complete with a master bedroom with ensuite and dressing room area.  One further bedroom has its own ensuite, whilst the other three remaining bedrooms have access to a good-sized family bathroom.  Downstairs an open kitchen is large enough to incorporate a dining area and separate utility room.  A well-sized living room and separate study area complete the family-friendly layout.

Eye itself is a vibrant village with excellent amenities including a selection of independent shops, pubs and restaurants, library, community centre and a primary school.

Parson’s Prospect is only a short walk from the village’s own nature reserve at Eye Green, and a little further afield there are plenty of opportunities to discover idyllic Fenland waterways, woodlands and wildlife conservation areas. The area is also home to many of England’s most important historical sites including the beautiful cathedral in Peterborough and one of Europe’s most important Bronze Age sites at neighbouring Flag Fen.

Just a short distance from Peterborough and Cambridge, living in Eye will offer commuters the perfect blend of rural tradition and cosmopolitan sophistication.

Come along and view our new homes at Hempsted Park this weekend.

Larkfleet Homes is holding a ‘hard hat and wellies’ weekend at its Hempsted Park development in Peterborough.

The event will be on Saturday 16 and Sunday 17 April from 11:00 am to 3:00 pm. It is open to all prospective new home buyers and will give them the opportunity to look at the Leominster style house.  This is a four bedroom, town house style home with private parking spaces.  We are also offering a £5000 discount on this house style this weekend.

Larkfleet Homes sales manager Sam Watkins said: “Hempsted Park is under construction so parts are still a building site – so our 'hard hat and wellies' event this weekend will take into account the rather muddy areas. We can provide both the hats and the wellies you need but feel free to bring your own!"

Hempsted is a new and developing area situated on the outskirts of the city, giving homeowners the best of both worlds – easy access to the vibrant city life plus excellent communication links by road and rail to London, Cambridge and Stansted Airport.

The heritage city of Peterborough boasts thriving shopping centres such as the nearby purpose-built Serpentine Green and historic Cathedral Square, with its farmers’ markets, street entertainment and chic wine bars, restaurants and cafes. The city is also well known for being one of the East of England’s most important historical centres, home to the stunning cathedral and the Bronze Age site at Flag Fen. Hempsted sits on the edge of the idyllic Fenland, woodlands and wildlife conservation areas.

Larkfleet’s Helen Hick shortlisted for award

Larkfleet Homes joint managing director Helen Hick was shortlisted for a prestigious award at the recent Women in Construction Business Awards.

Although ‘pipped at the post’ for the title by Jackie Biswell of Apex Roofing in Lowestoft, Helen was delighted to be one of just six finalists for the 'Business Leader of the Year' award.
Helen said: “To be amongst the finalists for this award is an honour. The number of women working in the construction industry is still relatively low. It is important that we encourage and celebrate the success of those who do choose any one of the very varied roles available to them. The Women in Construction Business Awards do just this and I was delighted to be part of the event.”

The award judges put Helen into the final six as a result of her growing role at Larkfleet Homes where she has worked alongside husband, Karl, to build the company to what it is today – one of the UK’s most successful private housebuilders. Helen was promoted to joint managing director last year and she continues to hold the position of human resources director for parent organisation The Larkfleet Group of Companies.

The allure of a train in your garden!

Graham and Sue Diver moved into their new Larkfleet home at The Croft in Baston last year.  The Croft is an age exclusive development offered by Larkfleet Homes.  With varied house styles and private gardens on offer, The Croft appealed to Graham and Sue immediately.

Graham is a keen railway enthusiast and has built model railways as a pastime for many
years.  Having a brand new garden at his disposal proved to be just too much of a temptation and Graham has built a brand new track model railway!

The initial work was started last year and the project was recently finished as the last of the landscaping and planting was completed.

The initial work included marking out the track route and layout, building the foundations and walls.  Laying the track circuits came next with inner and outer circuits, a passing loop and sidings.  Following a brief pause for a holiday, the engine sheds were added to the sidings and a couple of stations and buffer stops completed the scene.

The final landscaping and planting was completed very recently and the trains are now ready to start rolling.

Graham says: “We were very happy with the choice of houses at The Croft.  Obviously, what really swung it for me was having a garden large enough to house a new railway layout.”
